Mr. Nanko saw the flash of the A-bombing at the Toyo Industry Co., Ltd. in Mukainada, where he was mobilized to work. He then entered the city to go back to his home in Ujina, where he was exposed to the radiation.
His younger brother Osamu, who was engaged in the building demolition work, came back home with severe burn injuries, but died that night. He thinks that the total abolition of nuclear weapons would be the only way to compensate the victims of the A-bombing. |
