Junko was exposed to radiation at a plant in Kusunoki Town where she was working in accordance with a student mobilization order. She was 14 years old. The plant was located 1.6 km away from the Hypocenter. She saw through the window a plane dropping a round object which gave out a flash. In an instant, she was crushed under the building and lost consciousness. She came to hearing someone screaming and crawled out of the building. It was pitch-dark and she was frightened by seeing people with hair standing on end and bleeding. |
