I was near the rifle range in Eba, on my way to the Mitsubishi Shipyard where I worked, when I spotted a B-29. Some 20 minutes after that, the moment I arrived at the shipyard, there was a tremendous boom, so I hid under a desk, which helped me. I walked around searching for my father who had been performing labor service but I was never able to find him. My mother passed away on the 23rd from the severe burns she suffered. It was difficult for me to lose both parents and be subjected to discrimination. |
