Situation |
On the morning of August 6, I heard about the atomic bomb being detonated when I was on my way to a hospital in Sakacho where I received outpatient care. I thought I should return to my home in the city but that day I fled to my grandparents' house, and returned to the city the next day in order to look for my mother and younger brother. I finally found them on the second day. As my mother had suffered severe burns, and my brother had suffered from atomic bomb disease, we lived impoverished lives. |
