Situation I had enlisted as an army combat medic at the Hiroshima First Army Hospital. I was exposed to the atomic bomb while performing maintenance on small arms in the hallway of the barracks located in Motomachi. I was thrown by the force of the bomb and trapped under the collapsed building. After getting myself free, I fled to Hesaka. I hade been injured by glass fragments. I managed to reach a branch hospital of the Hesaka Army Hospital and received treatment rapidly as I was a combat medic. Although I was housed in a private house, my wounds were severe so I was transferred to an army hospital near Tokuyama on the 9th where I stayed until the war ended.
