Situation |
Although I had been working every day at a factory of Japan Steel Works where I had been dispatched to work under the student mobilization, that day I happened to have the day off and was at home. My older sister was working in a clothing depot. A few hours after I was exposed to the atomic bomb at home, I became worried about my father, and went to Hiroshima Station, where he worked, to look for him. I couldn't find him that day and continued to walk around looking for him every day. A few days later, I finally was reunited with him at Hiroshima Station. Since immediately after being exposed to the atomic bomb, my father had worked to help restore railroad service. |
