| Situation |
As part of student mobilization, we were working in building demolition and were gathered at the foot of Hijiyama Bridge. I was exposed to the atomic bomb just as I heard the call of "Let's gather!" signaling the start of work. When I came to, my surroundings had changed into scenes of hell, with huge amounts of persons in incredible conditions fleeing to Hijiyama. I also fled from place to place but, unable to find my mother, I spent three days beside the river in Ozu. I was finally reunited with my mother on the fourth day. To this day, I still have keloids. |
