Situation I was doing work at Miyajimaguchi when the atomic bomb was dropped. There was a huge sound and I saw the mushroom cloud. Charred corpses were washed up on the seashore. An order to do rescue work was issued, so I headed toward Hiroshima and was exposed to the radiation as I entered the city. I spent four days burning corpses. It caused me immense shock. Afterward I became an artist, and one of my paintings themed on the atomic bombing is in the Hiroshima Peace Museum.
