Situation He was working in Hiroshima Communications Bureau when the atomic bomb was dropped. Sensing a light that was like burnt magnesium, he was thrown by the blast as far as the wall on the north side. He fled in the direction of Hakushima together with a colleague. Although he heard voices pleading for help along the way, he was not in a state to help anyone. He lost his younger sister in the bombing. He is currently active as a peace volunteer at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
