When she returned to her home from the evacuation site, there was a flash of light and the sky turned pitch black. She was trapped under her collapsed house and does not remember what happened, but she unconsciously crawled outside. The area around was a tragic scene, with collapsed houses and fires burning. She fled to Kusatsu Elementary School. The following morning, she head for Hatsukaichi and was reunited with her father and older sister. Her grandmother and eldest brother died immediately, and her mother and other older brother were never found. |
