He was on Kanawa-jima Island, mobilized as a student. It was when he was drinking tea with a friend in the warehouse that he felt a heat wave hit his left cheek. The next thing he realized, he was in military clothes, crouched down under a long table. All sound in the area around him had stopped. He ran outside and saw the mushroom cloud directly after the bombing. It was circling and billowing up in various different colors. From the bridge he saw a female student with pieces of glass sticking out of her body. |
