22 years old at the time.She was inside the Hiroshima Communications Bureau, currently theChugoku Postal Bureau, 1.3km from the hypocenter when the bomb was dropped. In the instant that she saw the flash of light she was buried under rubble, and lost her left leg. Suffering from the after-effects of the atomic bombing, including undergoing 5 operations on her left leg, she continued speaking activities as one of the survivors, with her wish for precious peace and to hand down the legacy of the atomic bombing experience. |
