Description | Digging shijimi clams in the riverbed Drawing / Kazuo Matsumuro 1920s Kyobashigawa River The sand in the river was also clean, and at low tide people would scour the tidal flats looking for tiny shijimi clams. Plenty of ganmon, a delicious river shrimp, lived in the shallows. Meanwhile, children would often get up baseball games in the riverbed. |
