Description Seigo Nishioka (then 13) who drew this picture
Seigo Nishioka, a 1st year student at Hiroshima Prefectural Technical School, was exposed to the atomic bombing at school. When he came to, he discovered that he was trapped under the school building and couldn't move. Although he was rescued somehow, he suffered burns on his face and hand, and injuries to his foot.

Around 9 am
While looking at the river, I saw a man wearing a "bamboo life preserver."
He didn't move at all, and was just swept downstream with a large number of dead people.
