Description | Artist: Hirosuke Yokota <Artist’s comments> As soon as I evacuated, I felt something hot flowing from my head and both elbows. I found that I was bleeding from my face, both hands and elbows, and soon I was covered in blood. I realized I had dozens of glass shards stuck in me. I pulled out as many as I could, but fresh blood spewed out of the cuts. From my scars on my head and both elbows caused by glass shards, I kept finding small pieces of glass and powdered glass even 60 years after the bombing. |
