Description | Flies came no matter how much I shooed them away Night of August 6, 1945 1,080 m from the hypocenter Kita-eno-machi night-duty room of Hiroshima Central Telephone Bureau West Office Drawn by Tadako Fujishige (20 at time of bombing, 80 at time of drawing) On the 6th, I silently kept shooing flies away throughout night. As soon as the big flies flew in from nowhere, they deposited white eggs on skin that was peeled open by burns or on cuts. Then maggots began crawling immediately. Flies came no matter how much I shooed them away with a fan. [Artist’s comments] 2020/9/1~2021/2/23 本館常設展示 |
