Description | After the bombing, I had diarrhea and bloody stools for about one month. I was prostrate. I could do nothing for myself. Unable to take water or food, I was bedridden for half a year, wasting away to skin and bones. A young doctor, himself burned by the A-bomb said, “You’re lucky to be alive. It’s a miracle that you survived.” My family said they were expecting my funeral any time. I was on my way to cross the river to the other world but I returned to this world. I am just grateful I have been able to make it to 64 years old. |
