Description | Full of burn victims 2,300m from the hypocenter Eastern Drill Ground Onaga-machi (now, Hikari-machi) August 6, 1945 Hirotaka Enjo (8 at time of bombing, 65 at time of drawing) [Notes from the artist] Approaching the Eastern Drill Ground, my mother said an enemy plane was coming and rushed us into a bomb shelter. There was little light inside and there was muddy water up to my knees. The narrow space was packed with burn victims. I was scared to death. From the shelter, the city was a sea of raging fire. |
