Artist's explanation
Again that day, the strong mid-summer sun was shining early, glaring brightly off the ground. A second year student in junior high school, I was still at home because we were allowed to get to work at the military factory later than usual. Suddenly, a blinding light pierced the space around me like an arrow. I was about to leave the house, when I was blown against the wall, along with everything in the house. Then I was buried under rubble.
