Description | Unforgettable scene August 6, 1945 Hisaichi Mochida (25 at time of bombing, 82 at time of drawing) [Notes from the artist] I received first-aid in Ushita and evacuated to Hesaka via the trail through the valley. Along the way, I saw people screaming for water, people who had stuck their heads into the river from water's edge, people who had exhausted their strengh and collapsed, and people who sat and could longer move. There were also people who trudged along in a line. It was a miserable sight. |
