| Description | Maggots filling a man’s eyes and mouth August 7, 1945 1,300 m from the hypocenter Temma-cho Drawn by Takeko Nabara (15 at time of bombing, 72 at time of drawing) On the 7th, a man was leaning on a broken mud wall in Temma-cho. As his eyes were moving, I thought that he was alive. I approached him only to be frightened by the sight that the fat maggots were filling his eyes and his mouth. Despite the atomic bomb, the flies hardily survived. [Artist’s comments] 2020/9/1~2021/2/23 本館常設展示 |
