Description | Continuing every day 2,200m from the hypocenter Funairi-kawaguchi-cho August 6, 1945 Ayako Uesugi (45 at time of bombing, 75 at time of drawing) [Notes from the artist] This woman went to do demolition work behind City Hall and then returned home that evening on the verge of death. That night, she died. On August 7, her family burned her body in the field without a coffin. All the fields had become crematoriums. The bodies were burned one after another every day. |
