Explanation in picture
Inside the cisterns were people charred black, writhing in agony. There were some charred black who had evidently sought water and got themselves covered with it. I saw one that seemed to be my child. Another one seemed to be my aunt, this one my elder sister, that one a passerby. Three innocent children who lived next door had all come apart-arms, legs, torsos―so pitiful. This horrific scene which I can never express with either brush or word remains imprinted clearly in my mind.
