Description | My younger sister's face with clotted blood, her entire body pierced by glass fragments Drawing and text / Shizuko Miura After 10:00 a.m., August 6, 1945 Approx. 3,400m from the hypocenter Onaga-machi "I think it was just after 10:00 when my sister came to my home. 'Miura-san, Miura-san!' Startled, I looked in the direction the voice was coming from and saw my sister's face, looking like this. Like a demon that had leapt out of hell. Blood pouring out from more than ten gashes on her face had formed a plaster of clots that left me speechless. Yet, she was able to faintly ask, 'Sister, will I live?' I can still hear that voice."
