Description Ichiji Himaru, the donor's father (then, 56), and Toshiko, donor's mother (then, 55), who both worked at the Japan Electric Generation and Transmission Company, Chugoku Branch Technician Training School Dormitory, were exposed to the bomb at the company house. Sonoko, who was exposed to the bomb at her workplace, went to search for her parents early in the morning on the 7th and found that the company house had burned down. On the 9th, when she returned to the fire-devastated company house with her elder brother and sister, the trainees tearfully informed Sonoko that Ichiji had been pinned under the collapsed building and that they had tried to rescue him, who was screaming for help, but couldn't after all their efforts. Digging where the trainees indicated, Sonoko and her brother and sister found Ichiji's bones, which had been burned white. Toshiko's remains were found partly left unburned. Everything had burned down, leaving nothing except these coins. Sonoko brought the coins back home as their only mementos.
