Description Kiyoshi Yoshida (then, 33) was exposed sitting at his desk, his back to the window in the Hiroshima Railway Bureau Investigation Division, which had been evacuated to Hiroshima Jogakuin Girls High School. One of his coworkers helped him escape, but several days later, he lost all his hair and hovered on the brink between life and death. After he recovered, Yoshida underwent surgery to remove countless glass fragments embedded in his body by the blast.
