Description | Junichi Yoshizawa (17 at the time) discovered what seemed to be the bones of a family member near where the bomb had reduced his home to a mountain of rubble. He placed the bones with some dirt into an empty can and laid them to rest at the grave of his ancestors in Dohashi. The bones displayed here were among the ashes removed for burial in Tokyo to commemorate 50 years since the A-bombing. They have fused with pieces of the disintegrated iron can. |
