| Description | Kanichi Sanada was a sergeant major in the Army Medical Corps attached to the Hiroshima Supply Depot. He was exposed to the A-bomb while stationed in a private home in Yamaguchi-cho. He was trapped under the house when it fell, but he and his comrades made their way out. They took two medicine boxes from the commissary warehouse and fled to Fuchu Elementary School. There, Kanichi used the medical supplies in the box to give first aid to the injured. |
