| Description | This wood is from an old hackberry tree that stood on the left bank of the Ota River about 280 m downstream from the Misasa Bridge. Because of the A-bomb, the area surrounding the tree was engulfed in fire. This trunk was burned around the circumference leaving a mark like a sash, but the tree survived for decades. Finally, it died and was cut down on December 26, 1978. |
