Description | Dog nail (Thick nail for building Japanese-style ships) Donated by Shintaro Yokochi 1,700 m from the hypocenter Funairi-saiwai-cho Tadayuki Yokochi was running a shipbuilding yard in Saka Town. He headed for the city center immediately after the atomic bombing to aid the shipbuilding union members. Three days later, he entered the city center again with his wife Fusami and his son Shintaro, and found this dog nail in the burnt-out ruins of the union's office. After Tadayuki died, Shintaro received this nail from him. He has been living in Portugal as a swimming teacher and has shared his experience of the bombing with his students up to the present day, showing them this nail. |
