| Description | Statue of the Buddha Donated by Kazuko Yashiroda Approx. 1,700m from the hypocenter Senda-machi Mr. Akira Yashiroda was exposed to the A-bombing when he was at home. Although his house was destroyed by the bomb blast, it did not burn quickly, allowing him and his family to escape to their relative’s home nearby. On the following day, when he returned home to check its condition, he found it was in flames. Shouting “Oh, no!” he quickly retrieved items including this statue from the family Buddhist altar in the blazing house. |
