Description | Pen nibs, paper clips, identification tag, wristwatch Yutaka Tateda (then 42) had these items with him at the time of the atomic bombing. Exposed to the bombing at the Chugoku Regional Military Headquarters, his work place, Yutaka died. His wife, Sawame (then 31), who was at home, was worried about Yutaka and tried to immediately rush to the scene but was stopped from doing so. From August 9, Sawame repeatedly went to the burnt-out site and received the remains that Yutaka’s subordinates had picked up. After that, Sawame dug out Yutaka’s relics from the place where the remains were found and carefully kept them. (令和3年度第1回企画展「焼け跡もの語り」) |
