Description Shigeyoshi Ikeda(then,53) worked at the Kansai Oil Company in the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. When Shigeyoshi failed to come home, his wife, Kokiku (then,47),set out with their fourth son Fumiya (then,11) and Shigeyoshi's younger brother to look for him. They found a skeleton still sitting in a chair and were able to determine that it was Shigeyoshi by a fragment of his pants. They brought this watch home with his remains.

"Mother and I were both injured and waiting for treatment at the Red Cross Hospital. Stunned and unable to think clearly, we encountered my uncle, who said, 'Let's try to find your father. 'So the three of us went to the Industrial Promotion Hall, where we found many dead people. We could not even tell their gender. Mother said, 'This is your father.' She packed up the watch and his remains."(fumiya Ikeda, fourth son)
