Description Hiroka Nishimoto (then, 12), a first-year student at the Municipal Junior High School, was exposed to the A-bomb while performing building demolition work. His mother, Oyuki (then, 51) searched for Hiroka day in and day out, walking from relief station to station to no avail. She never found him. Forty-two days after the bombing, a worn-out Oyuki attended a funeral service for missing persons and left for home. As a final farewell, she clasped her hands in prayer at the location where she thought her son had been when the bomb was dropped. Suddenly, by mysterious chance, she noticed this bag stuck between the stones and pulled it out. From then on, she treasured this bag as a memento of Hiroka, whose whereabouts she never discovered.
