Hiroshi Nanbu (then, 28) was near the front of Hiroshima Electric Railway Company when the atomic bomb was dropped. Fortunately suffering no major injuries, he returned to Kanawajima Island where Akatsuki Corps, which he belonged to, was stationed. When he reported on the situation in the city, he was ordered to survey and report on the conditions in the city, so he returned. After that he was involved in relief activities. These are what he was wearing at the time of the bombing.
