Description | Loincloth exposed to black rain Donation / Shuko Horie Approx. 3,000m from the hypocenter Koi-machi (now, Koi-ue 1-chome) This loincloth was exposed to black rain hanging out to dry in the yard. Later it was washed, but the stains never washed out. Shuko's husband Ryusuke Horie (then, 46) was severely injured by the bombing in Ote-machi and hospitalized at Hiroshima Red Cross Hospital. Later, he was moved to Iwakuni Naval Hospital. He died on August 12, leaving a wife and four children. |
