Description | Giichiro Matsuda (then, 48), the donor's father, was severely burned on his back by the atomic bombing. He managed to get home in Hatchobori, but his house burned down so he fled to another house where his family had evacuated some household goods. On the 7th, Giichiro was reunited with his wife Kiyo (then, 45) and first daughter Kazuko (then, 20) who nursed him devotedly. However, the only treatment they could give was to apply mercurochrome to his burns. On the morning of the 8th, after expressing worry over their youngest child Sumie (then, 10), who had been evacuated out of the city, Giichiro died. |
