| Description | Masami Hashida (then,25) was exposed in front of Shukkeien Garden. He received burns covering the left side of his body. His mother Kimiyo walked around the city looking for him. Several days later, she finally found him lying on a straw mat in the shell of Fukuya Department Store. She took him to the Hiroshima Red Cross Hospital and nursed him devotedly, but he died on the 19th. Masami had been wearing these trousers at the time of the bombing. Kimiyo treasured them in his memory. |
