Morito Edamatsu, father of Shuso Edamatsu (then,12), who was in Class 6 of the seventh grade, entered the city immediately after the bombing but failed to find Shuso. After Morito had left to search the following day, Shuso's mother Fusae learned that Shuso was being cared for at Eba Elementary School. Fusae headed to the school, but in the chaos it took till 2:00 p.m. to find her son. Shuso was already dead. Fusae always grieved that she had not arrived a little sooner to see her son alive. |
