| Description | Setsuko Ogawa (then, 21) was exposed outdoors near her workplace, the Chugoku Military District Headquarters. Because she was on the ground looking up, she was severely burned on her face and her back. She was taken to Ninoshima. On the 9th, her mother Ritsu hurried to her side but could not recognize her because of the terrible burns. Ritsu nursed her devotedly, but Setsuko died on the 11th. |
