| Description | Senichi Furumichi's mother, Fude (53 years old at the time), was exposed to the bomb standing in front of her house. Severely burned on her back, she died two weeks later. Fude had been making prayer offerings in this bowl for the safe return of her only son, Senichi, fighting at the front. He did return safely from Southeast Asia in June 1946, and discovered this prayer bowl in the ruins his home. |
