Description | Ensuke Kushima, who had been away on business, finally returned home around 10:00 p.m. that day. His house had completely collapsed and burned. His wife Tome (then, 43) and his daughter Hiroe (then, 20) are still missing. His son Masafumi (then, 13) was doing building demolition work as a mobilized student at the time of the A-bombing. He managed to return to his evacuation place in the suburbs, sustaining serious burns all over his body, but died on August 24. This plate was unearthed while Ensuke was clearing the burnt-out ruins of his home. The glaze was melted by the fire. |
