| Description | Motokichi Nitta (then, 40) was exposed while working on building demolition. Spared serious injury, he made it to the prearranged refuge site late that night and was reunited with his family. However, his throat swelled terribly. Before he could receive treatment, he died on the 11th, leaving his wife and three children. After the war, his wife, Tomo, retrieved this statue from the ruins of their home and treasured it as a keepsake. |
