| Description | Haruo Nishiguchi was at the barber shop attached to his home when exposed to the A-bomb. His wife, Kinuyo, returned from her evacuation site and desperately searched for her husband but failed to find any trace of him. Although nearly everything in the bomb shelter next to their house had been destroyed, this tiny vase was miraculously undamaged. After the war, Kinuyo reopened the barber shop, decorating it with this vase to keep watch over her family. |
