Description This article was brought back by the donor Kozo Takeuchi and his elder sister Hisako on August 9. The Takeuchi family evacuated to Itsukaichi (now, Saeki-ku, Hiroshima City), except for the donor's father Hikoichi, who could not leave home for work. Hikoichi continued his routine of spending weekends with his family at their evacuation place and returning home Monday morning. On August 6, a Monday, Hikoichi was exposed to the bomb at his younger brother's home, Hikoichi had stopped over on his way home from the evacuation place. His younger brother died instantly and Hikoichi sustained serious injuries. Ten days later, Hikoichi managed to return to Itsukaichi and was happy to be reunited with his family members, on whom he had almost given up.
