Description | The donor's mother, Chiyoko Miyamoto (then, 48), was exposed to the bomb at home near the hypocenter. Three days later, Chiyoko's relatives found her remains and these scissors in the burnt ruins of her house. For the repose of her soul, Chiyoko's family put the scissors in her grave along with her ashes. After more than 60 years in the grave, the scissors were removed and donated to this museum. |
