This artifact was found in Funairi-machi. Kanbe (then, 52), was exposed at work at Kyobashi-cho. His second son Satoshi (then, 22), exposed at work at First Hiroshima Prefectural Junior High School, was trapped under the collapsed wooden building. Though he begged for help, waving his free hand from the rubble, he perished in the fire. The next day, Kanbe dug the still hot bones of his son from the ashes.
