| 内容 | 南方特別留学生のサイド・オマールさんが寄贈者の栗原明子さんに知り合った記念としてくれた写真。留学生たちが、寮から持って逃げたアルバムからはがしたもの。 8月7日、行方不明の父親を探し歩いていた栗原さんは、広島文理科大学に避難していた留学生たちと偶然知り合った。栗原さんは、年齢が近く、心優しい留学生たちとすぐに打ち解け、8月14日までそこで励ましあい、助け合って過ごした。 サイド・オマールさんはマレーシアの王族出身。大手町にあった興南寮で被爆して負傷していたにもかかわらず、元気にふるまい、周りの人を積極的に助けた。帰国のために東京に向かう途中で病状が悪化し、京都で途中下車した。8月30日から京都帝国大学付属病院に入院し治療を受けたが、9月4日に亡くなった。 |

| 展示説明文 | 南方特別留学生からもらった写真とはがき 寄贈／栗原明子 栗原明子さん(当時19歳)は､被爆翌日､行方不明の父親を捜し歩いているときに東南アジアからの官費留学生「南方特別留学生」たちと偶然に知り合いました｡彼らも被爆し､広島文理科大学に避難していました｡大学で野宿することになった明子さんは､14日まで､留学生たちと励ましあいながら過ごし､留学生たちは､自分たちの状況にもかかわらず､明子さんを慰め､助けてくれました｡大学が閉鎖されることになり､別れ間際､留学生たちは､記念として､焼失する前に学生寮から持ち出したアルバムから自分たちの写真をはがして渡してくれました｡ 手紙は､留学生の一人､アブドゥル･ラザクさんから帰国前に東京から送られたものです｡手紙には､ともに励ましあったサイド・オマールさんが京都で亡くなったことが記されていました｡ サイド･オマールさん[Syed Omar](当時19歳) マレーシア・王族出身｡学生寮で被爆。負傷していたにもかかわらず､日本人被爆者の救護や留学生仲間の捜索にあたりました｡帰国のため東京に向かう途中で､体調が悪化｡治療を受けましたが､9月4日に亡くなりました｡ |
| 展示説明文（英語） | Photos and a postcard given by foreign student from Southeast Asia Donated by Meiko Kurihara On the day after the bombing, Meiko Kurihara (then 19) met Japanese government-sponsored overseas students from Southeast Asia by chance while she was searching around for her missing father. They had also been exposed, and had evacuated to Hiroshima University of Literature and Science. Meiko, who had to sleep out in the open air at the university, and the foreign students encouraged each other until the 14th. The foreign students comforted and helped her, despite their own difficult situation. It was decided that the university would be closed. When they parted, the foreign students gave Meiko photos of themselves, from photo albums that they had removed from their dormitory before it burned down. The postcard was sent from Tokyo by Abdul Razak, one of the foreign students, before leaving Japan to return home. The postcard stated that Syed Omar, one of their other friends who had also encouraged and helped them, had died in Kyoto. Syed Omar (then 19) Member of royalty in Malaysia. Exposed to the bombing in a university dormitory. Despite his own serious injuries, Syed rescued Japanese sufferers and searched for fellow foreign students. His condition worsened as he was traveling to Tokyo in order to return home. He received treatment but died on September 4th. |
