| 内容 | 寄贈者の姉・塚本静江さんが、徴用されていた職場でもらったもの。昭和17年5月9日付。静江さん(当時23歳)は、東白島町の自宅から出汐町の広島陸軍被服支廠に出勤途中、紙屋町交差点(爆心地から250m)で被爆した。父の利夫さん(当時51歳)と弟の昭三さん(当時14歳)は、静江さんを捜し回り、7日にようやく井口村にあった陸軍運輸部船舶司令部の部隊の事務所に自力で逃げていることをつきとめた。静江さんはかろうじて意識があり、利夫さんが「静江きたぞ！」と声をかけると、「ようきてくれた」と泣いて喜んだ。静江さんは全身に大やけどを負い、体が変形し、声を聞くまで本人とは分からないほどの悲惨な姿だった。しかし家族の懸命の看病の甲斐もなく、治療も満足に受けられないまま、10日に亡くなった。静江さんはいつも早い時間に出勤していたのに、たまたまあの日遅くてもよいとの指示を受け8時頃に家を出たので、爆心地近くで被爆してしまった。利夫さんは火葬にした骨を、母と兄弟たちが待つ自宅に持ち帰った。家族は、働き者だった静江さんがもらったこの賞状を、仏壇に入れ、長年大切に保存していた。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Award Donated by Taketo Tsukamoto Shizue Tsukamoto, the donor’s older sister, received this award on May 9, 1942 at her workplace, which had been commandeered by the military. Shizue (then, 23) was on her way to work when she experienced the atomic bombing at the Kamiya-cho intersection (250m from the hypocenter). Her father, Toshio (then, 51), and younger brother, Shoso (then, 14), went looking for her and finally found her at an evacuation site in the suburbs on the 7th. Shizue was barely conscious, but was elated and in tears when her father called her name and announced their arrival. She was in horrible shape, covered in injuries and disfigured so much that she needed to speak to be recognized. Her father and younger brother diligently cared for her, but she died on the 10th without having received proper treatment. From the account of the donor, Taketo, Shizue’s younger brother: My older sister was the second daughter of six children and took care of all of her siblings. She worked hard and was kind. She was loved at home and at her workplace, and was my favorite sister. When my father brought her remains, he said “I was able to return with her bones,” and we all cried. |
