| 内容 | 広島爆撃の話を岡山で聞いた寄贈者の内田豊さん(当時36歳)は、広島の同僚達の身を案じ、8月6日、すぐに広島へ向った。広島は火の海で、爆心地から約1700mの千田町2丁目の自宅は目の前で火焔にのみこまれていった。街にも川にも無数の死体がつみ重なり、悲惨な姿の被爆者らが水を求めていた。内田さんは30人ほどの同僚たちの看病をし、亡くなった勤務先の所長の遺体を処理し、8月10日に岡山へ帰った。 |

| 展示説明文（英語） | Yutaka Uchida(then,36) was living in Okayama when he heard about the atomic bombing.Worried about his coworkers,he hur-ried to Hiroshima the same day of the bombing(August6).The city was a sea of fire,and his family home in Senda-machi,2-chome,1,700 meters from the hypocenter,was swallowed by flames in front of his eyes.Countless corpses filled the streets,and grievously injured surninors were pleading for water.Uchida nursed around 30 of his coworkers and helped cremate the dead.On August 10,he returned to Okayama. |
